It appeared in Sports Illustrated in 1964, and shows all the venues and points of interest for the visitor to the Summer Olympics, which took place here in October.\u00a0You can access by clicking on &#8220;view this issue&#8221; (or try this <a href=\"http:\/\/sportsillustrated.cnn.com\/vault\/edb\/reader.html?magID=SI&amp;issueDate=19640706&amp;mode=reader_vault\">link<\/a> instead and go to pages 44\/45). See below for a screenshot (click to magnify).<\/p>\n<p>Several of the buildings on the map will be discussed in the upcoming book:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/benbansal.me\/?p=82\">Hotel Okura<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/benbansal.me\/?p=560\">Yoyogi National Gymnasium<\/a>\u00a0as well as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/benbansal.me\/?p=917\">Komazawa Olympic Park<\/a>\u00a0with its great stadiums. I wrote up a few facts on the Games\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/benbansal.me\/?p=743\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The photos preceding the map are gorgeous and the American tourism guide immediately after the map is worth the (cumbersome) read as well.
